This is a video of the “Iris Festival” held in June at Shirasagi Forest Park in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture Japan, which is also known as a spot for watching fireflies. In the 8,400m2 iris garden in Shirasagi Forest Park, 20,000 irises of 100 varieties bloom from mid to late June every year, creating a beautiful gradation from purple to white throughout the grounds. Compared to the Shibata Ayame Festival, one of Japan’s four major iris gardens, the number of flowers may seem small, but the scenery of colorful Japanese irises blooming around the pier on the premises is a very beautiful early summer sightseeing.
