The 100th anniversary of the SL Ishinomaki Line was an event train operated by Moka Railway’s steam locomotive SL C11-325, which ran to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the JR Ishinomaki Line. Since there was no turntable at Ishinomaki Station, the steam locomotive ran backward from Kogota Station to Ishinomaki Station on Ishinomaki Line. Then, the locomotive pulls the train forward from Ishinomaki Station to Kogota Station. JR Ishinomaki Line celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012 after it opened between Kogota station and Ishinomaki station on October 28, 1912. Trains were suspended on all sections of the JR Ishinomaki Line due to the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. However, the section from Kogota Station to Ishinomaki Station was restored on May 19, 2011, and the section from Ishinomaki Station to Watanoha Station was opened on March 17 of the following year.
