Saihoji Temple is a temple of the Jodo sect, located in the mountainous area about 60 minutes from the center of Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture Japan toward Yamagata Prefecture. This is the place where Taira no Sadayoshi, a military commander at the end of the Heian period, is said to have lived in hiding after the Battle of Dannoura. After the death of Taira no Sadayoshi, he built a small shrine on his tomb according to his will and enshrined Amida Nyorai. Nowadays, the definition of fried tofu is especially famous, and it has become known as a tourist attraction that not only Japanese but also foreign visitors to Japan visit 1 million people a year. From 2020 to 2021, there was a lot of snow on the Pacific side of the Tohoku region, and I was able to see a beautiful snow scene here as well.
