Wild bird landing site Izunuma & Uchinuma’s Winter scenery
Izunuma and Uchinuma, which span Kurihara and Tome in Miyagi Prefecture, are also registered in the Ramsar Convention and are designated as a national nature monument for birds and their habitat.
It is also a wintering area for migratory birds, and is also a popular birdwatching spot where ducks and swans fly in addition to migratory birds of the National nature Monument.
Because of the short distance from Russia and the abundant feeding grounds such as paddy fields, the conditions as habitat for wild birds where migratory birds fly are complete.
According to the survey results so far, 235 kinds of birds have flew to Izunuma and Uchinuma.
