Shiraito-no-taki, which is known as a famous waterfall in japan, is a waterfall located in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture Japan, where water flows down from a curved cliff with a height of 20m and a width of 150m.
The thaw water flowing from Mt. Fuji flows through the boundary between the Shin-Fuji volcanic layer, which is the upper water-permeable layer, and the Kofuji volcanic layer, which is the lower water-impermeable layer, and eventually flows down through the gaps in the cliff.
It is named “Shiraito no Taki” because it looks like a silk thread hanging down, and it is designated as a national scenic spot and a natural monument.
It is also one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan and one of Japan’s three major waterfalls, and is registered as a World Cultural Heritage as an asset that constitutes “Mt. Fuji-the object of worship and the source of art.”
