Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture Japan is a city surrounded by mountains where Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which is represented by the world heritage shrines and temples of Nikko, and Kinugawa Onsen, which opened in the Edo period, are located.
Mountain forests occupy 87% of the city area, and it is also known for its many natural scenic spots and many rivers that are tributaries of the Kinugawa River.
The Oya River, one of the tributaries of the Kinugawa River, originates from Lake Chuzenji in Nikko National Park.
The Yukawa River, which flows from Yunoko, which is further upstream of Lake Chuzenji, into Lake Chuzenji, is one of the main water sources of Lake Chuzenji.
These two rivers have three waterfalls called Kegon-no-taki, Ryuzu-no-taki, and Yutaki, and these waterfalls are called Oku-Nikko Meibaku Santaki or Oku-Nikko Three most Spectaculer waterfalls.
