In addition to the Ginzan Onsen, which is said to have become a model for Spirited Away, this town is also famous for producing watermelon, which boasts the highest production in Japan.
Obanazawa City is also known as the birthplace of the Hanagasa Festival, which is famous as one of the four major festivals in Tohoku.
The Obanazawa City Festival, which is held four times a year, such as the Obanazawa Hanagasa Festival held in the summer and the Obanazawa Snow Festival scheduled for this time, is called the Obanazawa City Four Great Festivals.
These are familiar to many people such as the area and tourists.
At the Obanazawa Snow Festival scheduled to be held this time, various events such as a huge snow mountain skiing experience and a snowmobile experience were prepared.
However, since the infection status of the new coronavirus infection did not improve, the event was canceled at the venue, and only the snow fireworks display was held at the Obanazawa City Sports Park in Obanazawa City.
