In Minamiizu Town, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture, which is located on the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula, where railroads do not pass, the “Minami Cherry Blossom and Rapeseed Flower Festival” is held every year from early February to mid-March, where you can enjoy the collaboration of Kawazu cherry blossoms and Canola blossoms. This is an event where you can enjoy 800 Kawazu cherry blossoms known for early blooming cherry blossoms and one side of Canola flowers blooming in fallow fields for about 2km along the Aono River that meanders in the center of Minamiizu Town. There will also be a “Minami no Yozakura and take-Akari” where you can enjoy the operation of a cherry blossom viewing rickshaw and the fantastic illumination of the night cherry blossoms. There is also a day trip bath facility at Shimogamo Onsen in this area, so you can take a bath until the free time when the cherry blossoms at night start to light up, and spend a relaxing time waiting.
