This is a public release of ships belonging to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Maizuru Base held on Sakata Kita Port in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture on August 6 and 7, 2011.The escort ship “Amagiri”, the missile boat “Hayabusa” belonging to the Maizuru Regional Corps and the minesweeper “Nagashima” were exhibited. A welcome ceremony was held on August 5, 2011, and a public voyage at Sakata Kita Port and experience cruises with those who wish to board were held on the 6th and 7th. The ships were dispatched to the stricken area after the Great East Japan Earthquake and were engaged in tasks such as searching for missing persons and rescue and transporting relief supplies.
